ecu codes/ dianostics testing

hey guys i was just wondering ifthere was a way to do a dianostic test at home without a tester i know on my friends probe all you need is a wire and you plug it into certain pins and wtch the check engine light does this apply to integra too does anyone know how to do it thanks guys

I know that on the 90-91 integras that if you pull back the passenger side carpet you will see the ecu cover and a little round window. If you look into the window you will see a little red light. Turn your car on and watch to see if the light starts to blink. There is two different kinds of blinks. A long blink and a short fast blink, the long blink =10 and the short blink =1. So if it blinks 1 long blink and 3 short blinks it would be a code 13. I think in teg tips it tells what the codes mean. HTH

Things you should know:

“,” and “.”.

Now you can go on to learn, that you can check ECU codes on your integra at home, with no special tools.
Any manual like “Chilton” or “Haynes” will tell you this.
On non OBD Integra’s, there is a LED on the ECU… read codes there.
On OBD Integra’s, there is a 2-pin connector under the passenger side dashboard, near the blower motor, short those 2 pins, and the “check engine” light on the cluster wil flash the codes.
