I am having problems with my motor mounts (heavy vibration and noise around 3500-4500rpm). Would a set of ES mount inserts alleviate the problem or would they just make them worse?
Also, if I must replace the entire mount, where can I find them and how much are they?
Yeah those are the prices for just the mounts… no hookup no nothing. Off the acura dealer.
The driver side and the front one are pretty easy to replace. A friend and I did it. The 2 remaining is a biatch. I havent tried to replace the rear though but i heard that’s the hardest.
My cousin just did this to his '98 R…it cost only $30 for all 3 inserts. And you HAVE to do all 3 mounts or the car will vibrate worse. The rear is definitely the hardest. Supposedly this mod eliminates wheel hop and idle vibration; plus it’s easier to spin the wheels.
90integraGS: I guess that my post has morphed into questions solely regartding the actual mounts, because I’ve realized that if I install the ES inserts with deteriorating mounts, then the vibration will get much worse.
Anyway, I don’t want to spend $200 on crap that won’t put a bigger smile on my face (the timing belt was a real loss).
I thought it was just the opposite! Inserts should compensate for old mounts…I was under the impression that the older the mounts are, the more effective the inserts will be. My cousin has 80K hard street/track miles on his car; his mounts are really cracked and distorted but he loves the difference that the inserts made.
