I think he was in 5 gear going about 90MPH or so, Then shifted into 4th.
i did that once in my younger years… but since i have ninja skills i pushed in the clutch and saved my car =]
i did pretty much the same thing… going down parmer. i was at redline in 4th went to slam it into 5th and bam went into 3rd. pegged the tach for about 2seconds.pushed the clutch in and pulled over flipping out.drove it slow for a few days listening to the motor and nothing. no weird sounds. and to be honest. my idle wasnt as crazy as it was. and the motor actually felt like it ran strong once i did get the balls to start getting back on her. my motor has seen some bad times. but never really messed anything up. guess im just lucky…
i wanna place the blame on cheap short shifters. but then again. its still a dumbass who recks a car from a miss shift. but if you see the begining he was redlineing the car anyway, some people still wish there car had an endless tach and a car that actually made power beyond the redline. so round of applause to the poeple who dont tune there ecu and use a chip to remove redline and have no protection against motor faliuar.

anyways, the sudden engagement of the clutch and the over-revving engine will cause the car to nosedive, which could possibly induce a loss of control…
like the TL auto transmissions…some people experienced sudden downshifts while cruising on the freeway and that resulted in accidents…those trannys were one of the worst designed from Honda i would say…the odyssey shares the same one and my moms had to be replaced.

I remember this vid. He was a member here on g2ic…VNTEC…located here in norcal. He blamed his miss shift on his bad shifter…bought from ebay. After the accident he built his car right back up. I remember he had many updates on his rebuild. Nice sedan. I have a pic of his car with a set of red gt3s somewhere in my g2ic pic archives folder, along with the pics from his update threads.
