If you have ur bumper lights on all the time, doesn’t the glass melt? Is there any type of bulbs or something you guys are using so that doens’t happen?
i used a dual filament bulb, with the low light on all the time and bright blinker…no problems so far…then again it’s only been a week…
I used the sockets from a set of taillights.
I have had them on for 2 months and no problems.

I think if i do ever have them on, I would want them to be really bright. Ebay is selling hyperwhite bulbs for corner lens and bumper lens. They look really nice.
I’m asking that question because in the tegtips it said on the bottom of the page to do it at ur own risk because u might melt the housing and stuff.
doesn’t the glass melt?
glass can’t be melted with just a 27/5 watt bulb dude…hehehe. but i know that you meant plastic. i have mine on all the time and nothing has happened yet and it’s been like that for two years. i’m using 1156’s which are single filament at 21w, i think. the 1157’s are double filament at 27w/5w. I think at 27w there might be a chance of melting but the car will be rolling most of the time so the air hitting the bumper lens and housing should keep it cool. and if it were to melt, the lens wouldnt cause it’s too far from the bulb. it’s the housing that’s going to melt.

you used tailight sockets? Serious? So i don’t need to buy the sockets for a G3 teg? Thats awsome, I have some extra sockets to use. Any changes to the teg tips? And does that socket stay in the light housing, or modifications need to be made?
It doesnt exactly fit in perfectly, but can me modified to fit with some silicone. I tapped into my corner lights so that they come on when I turn the light switch to the first position.

and this would solve my fast blinker problem right?
so you have to use silicone each time you change your bulbs?
Mine fast blink just because my front driver amber side marker has a bad socket. I tapped into the ligth in front of the amber corners.
Dont put alot of silicone, just enough to hold it in.

did you guys rewire them so that they stay on all the time and blink whenever you use the turn signal? if so, how did you rewire them? Did you splice the power wire of the bumper light and just connect it the power wire of the turn signal light in the corner lens? i tried following the teg tips but i cant seem to get it right. i tried doing the description above, but then both lights went out. took awhile for them to come on again.
dual filament bulbs is correct
if you use your original stock socket, then you gotta a problem, because you are only using a single filament bulb and rigging it so it will stay on at all times and then blink when your signal is on,
but with a dual bulb and socket you are using the lower light for all time and the brighter light for the signal, this is the same concept as your brake lights…
it requires a little wiring and modification to the bumper socket and hole, but its not too tough. I just bought and after market dual filament socket and cut a little here and there and it worked great and my bumpers are painted amber as well, looks good.

did you use the same two wires that were in the single filament socket? Does the dual filament socket pretty much wire right into the single filament or did you have to add new wires?
