for those with slotted rotors...

hey guys, couple questions…

i’m in search for the right rotors, as of right now i have 3 brands in mind…Rotora, Brembo, and Powerslot. All three of these seem pretty reputable and quality manufacturers. so my question is, who out there has these rotors on their cars, especially if they’re slotted? and if so, how do they perform and hold up to corrosion, rust, etc.?

I especially like the slotted Rotora’s because the center hub part of the rotors is coated black. The brembo’s and powerslots, however, are not. They are all silver. Now i have heard powerslots are all stainless steel, but they still tend to rust? someone please clear that up for me…now concerning brembo…do they make JUST slotted rotors? if so, what are the prices for all 4? right now i only have def. prices for the Rotora’s, which are $179 for all 4…

ok, so who has these rotors and can tell me about 'em? or in any case, who knows or has researched into this like i have and came out with good findings? please let me know. I think if we get enough people in here to respond, we can put this thread into the archives, because i know brake rotors is a big topic that is often discussed.

thanks guys:)

i got my cross/slotted brembos from a g2ic group buy a long long time ago. i cant remember how much it cost, except that it was a great deal. i think eric was the one who ran the group buy.

meanwhile, i have the brembos with hawk pads up front and axis pads in the rear along with goodrich ss brakelines. this combo works really sweet. no problems with the rotors yet. i think i’ve ran 30k miles on them by now. knock on wood

I’ve been running Powerslots for over a year now with absolutely no problems. No rusting/corrosion and it hasn’t eaten up the pads (AEM) like I was afraid of. I don’t think any rotors are made of stainless steel - it’s way too soft of a metal. Brembo makes all kinds of rotors - blanks, slotted, cross-drilled, and combination. I believe Rotoras have a special coating on them. In short, all three companies are very good, just go with what is cheapest. I personally like the look of the silver Powerslots as opposed to other companies with the gold look. You’ll know what I’m talking about if you compare the two.

I just got the Powerstop Slotted rotors on my car and I like em a lot. Still going through the break-in period, but they are already much better than OEM. Like GStRing92, I prefer the look of these (silver not gold), especially behind some polished silver 17s. SWEET! Anyways, I like em and got a decent deal.

Of course you really can’t deny the Brembo name, but in the end I think it depends on how much you can spend and what you really need. I got slotted b/c there was no real reason to get the duals and the x-drilled were more expensive. They work well and I’d recommend them.

Hope that helps!

David

ok, what did you guys pay for all 4 Powerslot rotors? and where did you buy them? i’m gonna be lookin for the place who has the best prices…i also plan to go with the AEM pads, front and rear, i’ve seen those on options auto salon for a decent price, anyone see those anywhere for cheaper than optauto.com?

and as far as the Brembo slotted’s, where can i find them? anyone know who sells them or who has the best prices on those? i know Brembo makes good quality and it has a good reputation…

thanks again, and keep the reply’s comin!

groupbuycenter often has deals of rotors, just gotta keep ur eyes open…they also have pads. If you do a search on ‘90 integra powerslot rotors’ you’ll find a few websites that have em at pretty good prices. Overboost.com has them for 289 and lightningmotorsports has them for about 250. I got mine for 280 from a friend so…either way just shop around. You can probably find them even cheaper than this.

I saw a post a couple of days ago about someone on here selling Brembo rotors…do a search. If I remember right it was slotted/x-drilled combo though.

I purchased the Power Slot front and rear rotors (and Axxis Pads) in April for my Teg. No problems at all. There is one thing I noticed though. After taking the rotors out of the box, the Power Slot rotors said “Brembo” on them. I’m guessing Brembo makes them for Power Slot, but who knows.

Oh yeah, if you need a set, let me know. I can do a front and rear Power Slot package for $240.00 plus shipping. If you’re interested, email me at jennyjo@highrevmotorsports.com .

Jenny - that seems a bit expensive, dont you think? I found them at the first site i looked at, optauto.com, for $126 for all 4 Powerslots…can you do better than that? and why is your price so much higher?

I’ve only seen them listed for about the prices that newtegguy posted. Usually between $250-290.

If you found them new for $126, you’d better jump on that because that’s a steal.

i think i just may be mistaken, i think its like $260 or something, i dunno, whatever…that is still too expensive for my budget, so could you look into a price for the Rotora slotted’s and the Brembo slotted’s? if you could, i’d appreciate it…thanks:D

Just FYI Brian 93teg: Just for comparing, optauto’s prices are $252 for all 4 plus shipping (front are $72x2 and rear are $54x2). Jenny’s got a good deal if you can get em.
