Fuse blows at hard throttle.

A friend of mine just swaped in a B16A1 into his 92 DX Civic hatch. The car will crank and idle fine, but the charge light stays on while the cars is runing. He had the alternator rebuilt today and that was not the problem. When you get into hard throttle the alternator solenoid fuse in the fuse box blows. It kills the ecu, spark,& fuel pump. Have any of you run into this problem?

a bad ground/ crossed wires?

Could be a bad ground or a short somewhere. When the motor torques over at WOT the short may be occuring then because a wire is stretching out and shorting or something… .

Good point JETSPD1477:D

sounds like a bad voltage regulator (inside the alternator). you can go to almost any repair shop and ask for a AVR test. This will tell you how much voltage the alternator is generating. On avg. you should be getting around 14V. Usually, anything higher than this may start frying fuses and other electrical componets! That could maybe explain the “battery light”?

Thanks rcto50 but Brian found out that the harness inside at the ecu was bad after swaping that out no problems.
