going FI... advice please

i’ve decided to go turbo and would like some advice. i did a search and read the turbo guide but couldn’t find exactly what i was looking for. can anyone suggest some places on the web to buy components for a turbo setup like FMIC piping, mani, etc? or should i just buy a DRAG kit and call it a day? thanks in advance…

I highly doubt you actually read the turbo guide if you’re asking those questions.

The turbo guide lists at least 3 manifolds and where to get them. It always talks about IC piping and everything else you need to know about, except for the most detailed things.

Read it until you understand it. Don’t be lazy.

honda tech classifieds and force induction section

You can put together a kit for under $2k with very good parts, mostly new. Key is finding a decently used junkyard turbo for under $150.

I’ll list a few:

DIY Engine Management (TurboEdit, Uberdata, Crome)

  • ECU (~$130 or less)
    BMC Log Manifold (~$220)
    CCA FMIC (~$200)
Fully Mandrel Bent Exhaust from Kteller (~$300)
    DSM 450 Injectors (~$60)
    Fuel Pump
    …and the list goes on

yes i read the guide…

and i printed it out. it lists manufacturers of the manifolds, where you are able to buy them if you want. But my question is are there RETAIL sites where you can also purchase these parts from, instead of right from them, and other items that i will need, maybe all from the same place. as far as calling me lazy, you can kiss my ass. right now i’m in F&@kin’ Afghanistan defending your couch potato self and taking care of wounded soldiers. I appreciate the help from people who aren’t so quick to deliver such arrogant statements, as you have done, which seems to happen quite often in these forums. It’s unfortunate as most of the people here are asking honest questions about something that we all share a common interest in…

thanks…

xenocron… thanks for the reply. i’m not too worried about money right now. i dont want to spend a ton but quality and daily drivability are important. plus it’s a definite that i need to keep my ac. can you think of somewhere i could buy most of the parts from in one shot? being away from home it is easier to have it all come from one place, except for the intricate things i may need down the road… thanks again,
wags

your best bet is www.honda-tech.com check the classifieds and you can get a turbo kit without paying too much. When you get back on US shores pm me on www.tamparacing.com , we can setup a uberdata street tunning session for a good price. I also do turbo installs, if your interested.

Funny… I would have never thought a war has to do with a turbo build? Maybe you’re just looking for hand outs like 90% of the soldiers I personally know.

actually…

it has nothing to do with a war. you said i was lazy. if you only knew what goes on over here… i’m just looking for a way to spend the money i make over here so that when i get back i have something to do with my teg. i’m not looking for a handout and i’m sorry that the people you know are like that. don’t you have anything better to do with your time? are you just angry? thanks to everyone else who isn’t like this guy…

Yes you are lazy. Since you read the turbo guide, I’ll put this into perspective a little easier since I obviously have no idea how life is for you over there.

Say you see an InlinePro manifold on there, which there is. You want it, but you see no list of retailers. Instead of searching Inline Pro manifold, you decide to make a post and have everything handed to you.

You are lazy.

Shoot me an email. Since you are abroad I can probably gather most of the parts for you from the different manufacturers that I have come to know. I can run everything by you, put together a price list…and go from there.

well…

yeah, the guide says that i can get one there, like from inlinepro, but is that always the best place? not usually. maybe someone knows somewhere better to get one? that was what my orignal question was about. if someone knew anywhere better to get this stuff. usually buying direct from a manufacturer isn’t always the most cost effective way of getting things. but maybe your 19 old ass doesn’t understand that…
thanks for the help from the others, i’ll shoot some emails to you when i get back.
