got my setup done (pics)

That shit is clean!!! I like it a lot! I bet it is fun to drive.

I don’t think a manifold can cause boost spikes, but I don’t think that manifold is designed very well. The wastegate seems like it would only get exhaust from one cylinder.

The wastegate placment is usually the main cause of boost spikes …

The Wastegate placment on that manifold causes reversion which causes boost spikes …

I suggest a ram-horn style manifold , or a manifold where your WG placement pulls from all 4 cylinders for a true reading …

i agree… less piping= less way for the charged air to travel=more power. other than that looks pretty good… and yea that FMU bs is junk.

Im only a couple months into the fi game but I dont get boost spikes with this mani! I do however have a problem keeping a constant psi which i think is my pos turbonetics deltagate.Like 5-6 psi in 1st,7-8 in second, and finally 10-11 in 3rd.Im going to upgrade my turbo, manifold, and wastegate come september then get tuned.Anyhow I like the intercooler setup. Its not that bad when you have a custom setup like me.Hey man seriously ditch that fmu,get a chipping kit and go uberdata!Id feel safer with an uberdata basemap than with an fmu anyday.

hey milanogisser i got the same prblem i boost different PSI in each gear

Well I guess Im not alone. Its either A:our shitty manifolds,or B:our shitty wastegates. If you hear anything about this let me know.I was considering changing my wastegate in favor of a tial to see if it cured my problem. After that its on to a new manifold!

:werd:

wouldnt with all that long intercooler piping wouldnt it lag like a bitch???

btw even tho kinda like it :corn:

nice go turboedit and get rid of that bs wg and manifold

which pipe are u guys talking about the one that goes from the intercooler to teh turbo ??

I couldn’t tell from the pics. With the way you ran the IC piping were you able to keep AC and PS?

i got ps but no ac wouldnt clear the the waste gate and TM

what if i was to get a half size raditor and redid my intercooler pipe that went to the turbo like in the pic below u can see that it goes back to otherway, so what if i made that pipe alot shorter would it matter ?? so that air can get there faster anyone if it possible

well dose anyone know if that would work or not

It would work but I would never downgrade from a full radiator to a civic half-size.If youre not happy with the piping which isnt all that bad,you could use the charge pipe routing that i did.Thats turbo compressor facing the ground,90" elbow from turbo heading towards driver side of car, piping going throughwall underneath washer reservoir(you have to use a circular bit and drill) then to a u bend and around to intercooler up front. All in all probably not that much different.I think your setup is fine.Actually very cool!

Green lines are the two thin walls you have to drill a circular hole through.Hope this gives you another option or idea. :blah:

yes your way would work fine too…there are many b-series turbo cars runnin the smaller rads

Looks very nice/clean, good job.

i think that milano’s way is the best in performance, but the point is keeping the ac…vtec’s way might work but not sure try using a civic ex radiator and ac condensor it might work, not sure but if it work u should tell me about it, cuz i got a gsr too and don’t want to get rid of my ac or ps either…so i’m looking for ideas too before i do it

if possible give me an engine bay shot of how u did your down pipe, cuz i want to see how close it is to your ac compressor

from other turbo tuning experience, usually you can eliminate alot of spikes in boost by porting the wastegate hole if you have enough material w/o compromising strength. i’m used to gihugeic turbo’s tho.
