Ok, I shouldnt have said why factory cars dont come with but them. I still think if you get those aftermarket honda dross drilled rotors, they just look good.
Slotted rotors will not increase breaking performance when used with the stock calipers compared with unslotted/drilled rotors of the same compound. The small surface area of Honda rotors are simply reduced by slots or holes. Yes, the amount of material removed by slotting is significant, and will actually decrease performance. Even after long stops most carbon-metallic or similar pads will not produce enough gas whereas the braking performance is negotiated greatly, and even if so, the relatively weak clamping force suffers a greater loss by a reduced surface area.
BTW slots and holes are ALWAYS weaker than their solid counterparts.
93Integrs, do you still have your stock rear rotors? Are they warped or under spec? If not, I wouldn’t mind taking them off your hands. Tell me what (fair) price would motivate you to make a trip to UPS? Oviously they are heavy as **** and will cost an arm and a leg to ship, but would you be willing to sell them?
Thanks
i’d be willing to sell them.
i’m not sure what spec is…
if someone here has specs for the brake rotors.
i know the fronts are still good, they (all 4) needed to be turned tho.
The min. depth is stamped on them I think. That’s what I meant by spec. Let me know how much over that (or total if it isn’t stamped on there) they are. That way I can make a judgement on if it would be worth the shipping charges.
I don’t need the fronts, mine are cherry.
I still can’t figure out how I warped that rear rotor at the last auto cross.
if it is more convienent you can just email me
1999 ferrari 355 spyder w/ factory rotors
This photo has come in handy twice today!

those ferrari rotor are cast with the holes so they are stronger than the drilled rotors for hondas.
blah blah,
holes for cooling and slots for gasses…thats what they are for no matter what anyone says
Powerstop rotors kick As- on my stockers…drilled or cast… who cares if they don’t fade and haven’t warped like the factory crud. All I know is that the stock ones warped and faded like hell and these don’t… isn’t that what matters?

The truth is, those powerstup wear your pads faster and are easier to warp than blank rotors.
so if crossed drill and slotted rotors are not as good as the oem or blank rotors with the stock calipers…what about those brake kits that come with new calipers…like AEM?

Having drilled rotors are not expensive, so why dont any cars use them from factory?
must not be a ferrari/porsche/corvette z06/lamborghini buff…
Not a motorcycle buff either I guess…
I thought the reasoning for the slots and holes are for more surface area not for pad to rotor ratio but for rotor to cool air ratio. Made for cooling? but then again aren’t some pads needed to be ‘heated’ in order to perform to their max spec?
hey i had powerslots but i never had a chance to break them in all the way but they “looked cool”
if speed kills to brakes give life?
i got cross drilled slotted brembo rotors too, if u search ebay, theres a guy selling it for around 100 for 2 fronts, u can get cross drilled rotors (brembo) for 80 for 2 fronts, but for some reason, my rotors squeal really loud sometimes when i brake, why???
The holes in the brembo X-drilled rotors are cast in as well, not drilled afterwards. I’ve had mine on for quite awhile, and zero problems. No warping of any kind, to where my stock rotors would warp very fast. So they dissipate heat better, but don’t expect superior braking because they do have less surface area. For auto-X though, I recommend solid brembo blanks for better braking… and be ready to replace them every couple races because they will warp .
man I cant wait to get mine on… I painted the rim of mine in high temp white paint…

Wow… you really think they are easier to warp? I can tell something is warped.
