i bought a used greddy kit for a DC2 from an HMT member and its being shipped as we type. should be in sometime this week.
well, the only thing i can think of that won’t bolt right in is the intake pipe. i’m probly gonna have to cut it and make a bend to clear the battery then into the resonator hole.
anyone here using a kit made for a DC2? i can’t wait to finally feel the boost!
i think the intercooler piping would be the only thing that really would need modification, you may actually need some more piping just because they go through the front and you have issues with the radiator unless you are using a half radiator from a del sol or civic, otherwise everything else should be ok, mani and turbo wise
the pipe after the intercooler will go into a 3" hole in the frame that i will drill out cuz i need the washer fluid reservoir intact. if i do need anymore pipes, luckily i have someone local that can fab some up. i’ll try to post up pics as i go along the turbo install.
oh, what about the breather hose that goes into the factory intake pipe? i was reading up on oil catch cans and it seems its a necessity for boosted motors. will i need it if i’m only gonna boost 6-7psi ?
yes you will need to update your pcv system, I believe the turbo guide has 2 different ways to do it, Im not sure which is better, both ways however do take care of those hoses that go to your intake
yeah, i knew beforehand that the link wouldn’t work since its for obd1 so i’m gonna sell it. same as for the FMU and RC310 injectors. i’m gonna use turboedit for standalone and dsm injectors. thanks for the replies!
btw, how much should i expect to get from those 3 parts ?
WOW! that looks good! i’m gonna have to get my pipes custom made too cuz there’s no way the intake pipe will fit, i dunno about the other pipes though…
did you cut a hole through the frame rail ?
are you still using the IC that came with it? i’m not sure if the end tanks are supposed to be on top or bottom
k guys i need help BAD! i tried installing the manifold/turbo earlier and the block heater unit is getting in the way of the compressor (i think, the side that connects to the pipe leading to the intercooler).
what should i do? this is all i need to do to finish everything up. PLS HELP!
is there a plug that i can buy ? or a thinner unit ?
joseph - were you able to retain the block heater? cuz my turbo is hitting it preventing the manifold to sit flush against the head. the only solution i can think of is to buy the bolt that goes into that hole from honda.
i really don’t wanna do this cuz i need the block heater for winter. hopefully theres a thinner unit that i can buy
my motor did not come with a block heater since I live here in cali. There’s a threaded plug that you can purchase from honda to cover the heater block
i bought the frost plug today and i’m almost done putting the kit together. the manifold/turbo assembly is in and tightened. same as the intercooler and pipes. oil drain is done but i can’t thread the stainless oil feed line to the AN fitting. it seems it won’t catch the threads and i really don’t wanna force it cuz it’ll strip for sure. i’ll try again early morning
anyone have trouble threading the oil feed to the AN fitting ? any tips ?
