Greddy kit for a DC2 into DA fitments ?

SWEET! i finally have a turbocharged vehicle! the part that took the most out of my time was cutting the re-bar to clear the intercooler (a whole day of cutting and fitting since i couldn’t separate the two)

the motor started on its first try. idled normal. took it for a test drive and it starts boosing by 3k rpms cuz i hear the BOV once i change gears. i’m very happy with the motor. i love the car even more now that it has more power :ohyeah:

the only thing i gotta fix is an oil leak coming from the oil feed fittings. i didn’t tighten the oil pressure sensor enough so i’m gonna put more teflon tape and re-tighten it. other than that, everything is fine. now i’m gonna get the ECU chipped using turboedit, and tune it.

thank you everyone for all the help

alright, so i noticed another possible problem. i looked at the compressor inlet ( where the air filter connects to) and there was a film of oil inside. does this mean the turbo is shot ? its a greddy turbo used for a year. little shaft play

i don’t have an air filter on it right now cuz there’s just no room. looks like i’ll have to buy a slim push fan and mount it on the other side of the rad

how did u do it…send more pics to mn_ricer@hotmail.com
i wanted to do mine too but i looking and didn’t find that much space in my engine bay to do turbo so i’m still looking around

thats because of the shaft play…i have a buddy with the same problem and got a new turbo for it…

that dosn’t always mean the turbo’s shot. a little bit of oil on the inlet is not bad, as long as its not dripping out. make sure the car dosn’t smoke, if it smokes the turbo is on it way out.

well it seems the condition of the turbo is getting worse. i find oil residue in the BOV opening and if i get on it even a little bit, a puff of smoke comes out of the tailpipe. i’m taking it easy right now but it still smokes a bit, especially when i switch from 2nd to 3rd gear.

the turbo is a greddy tdo5h18g. i bought it used with a -4an feed line so i put a restrictor in and it still does it so i’m sure the seals are toast. it seems there’s only one place that rebuilds turbochargers locally so i called them today and they quoted me $900 for parts and labour so SCREW THAT!

anyone wanna trade me, plus cash, for a good condition 18g turbo ?

or any turbo that will bolt up to the greddy manifold

anyone? or should i just get the greddy 18G rebuilt ?
