Greddy SP2 ok for turbo??

I’m in need of an exhaust and I’m getting a good deal on a used SP2 and was wondering if this exhaust would be ok for turbo charged motors?? I dont know what the hell I’m doing as far as my turbo goes but I’m only looking for around 200hp to the wheels so nothing too extreme. Will this exhaust work ok for me when I decide to go turbo or should I just save my money??

first I would suggest reading the turbo guide at the top of this forum before you get flamed for not reading it, I believe that a 2.5 inch exhaust, will be fine for turbo especially for your hp goal, a 3 inch will be suggested by some people but its unecessary for you plus i think it runs into suspension problems if your car is lowered

I did read over that turbo guide some and thats why I thought of that question. It said 2.5" is good up to like 500hp. I’m not exactly sure what the SP2 is but I think its something like 2.36". What would that diameter piping be good up to if that is actually what size it is?? My goal is 200whp at first but after I rebuild I might step it up to around 250 or more. What is the most horspower you think the SP2 would be good for?? Do you think I could go as high as 300 with it?? I figure I should be good if the SP2 is actually 2.36" since the guide says 2.5" is good up to 500hp. What do you guys think though, I’m pretty clueless on turbo’s still.

You’ll be fine.

I think you will be fine, really it comes down to what you want, in order for me to have a 3 inch exhaust I would have to give up my exmag, and then my whole sleeper look goes out the window, so im ready to sacrifice a little turbo lag and a little restriction in order get the look im after, i believe you will be just fine with the sp2, its probably a 2.36 inner diameter, 2.5 inch outside diameter

Chambered mufflers aren’t exactly ideal for turbo applications, but if you’re just looking for 200hp then it definitely won’t be a problem.

your looking for 200whp but, when you get there you’ll want more. then you can easily change to a 3"dp/exhaust and gain 15+whp.
