GS-R engine swap help, need more info

Hi, i got a 1990 Acura Integra RS and I’m buying a GS-R motor from a body shop or junk yard. The GS-R motor is a 1993 with 150 000km and of course it’s vtec.
my question is, when I do go buy the motor, what else do I need to get>?? cause i head I need a vtec controller??? and the tranny cause I got a cable tranny and the GS-R has a hydro tranny.

can somebody help me out cause I’m lost.

first thing you need to do is go to the teg tips and look at the engine swap guide made by Dan Platt aka G2Guru.
Second you should utilize the search function…swappy a gsr motor into a '90 teg has been discussed on THIS page of topic’s.
the '92-93 Gsr engine uses a cable transmission just like your '90.
The differences between the trans is the gearing. Your '90 trans uses long gears where as the '92-93 gsr trans uses short gears which works better with a vtec motor.
If you get a pr3 or a pwo ecu then you won’t need a v-tec controller the ecu does it for you.
You’ll need to run a couple of new wires to the ecu to make it work.

gigarange is right on the money. read the engine swap guide, then read it again, then read it again (repeat until its memorized… this info is vitally important and useful). Then do a search… basically just gather as much info as possible on your own first. there should be nearly no questions you have to ask when you’re done with your research. But if something technical comes up, or you don’t understand something, thats when its time to make a post.

i too am putting a b17a in my car, so i’ve been through all the researching, and now its time to get down and dirty.
good luck with the swap!
