Gt45poWEr's DA9 BuiLD Thread

Thanks guys!!!

So there it is the new heart of my DA is finaly install!

At this moment i just realise that the backet of an automatic is not the same as manual…

So i just bought the transmission mount from innovative for a da auto to man with hydro case.

Looking good!

Thanks!!

I’m going to buy a mishimoto rad for the DA but i was wondering which hose i need…
If someone know that haha please tell me!

I found that the hose that go on the bottom of the rad could be the original and the one on the top would be from a 97-01 typer
but i’m not sure if someone could confirm…

Great build man, can’t wait to see it when it all comes together. You have gotten a bunch of parts for this thing, and I have plans to start working on my DB2 here soon. I have done a little research on which parts I want to get, but I was wondering if you had reasons for choosing specific parts over others ex. (Koni Yellow/GC vs Skunk2 vs. FFType1) traction bar (Innovative, Full-Race, K-Tuned) etc. Just wondering if was on a cost basis, on your future plans or just what you wanted. Great build so far tho I’m enjoying following it.

Thanks! It is nice to read a comment like this.:salute:

So for the suspension i chose the skunk2 over the koni/gc because i got this setup on two other car before and to get a real coiloverover like the skunk2 and FFtype you need a lot of part…
shock, GC, top plate, helper springs…At the end it make a very big price for a setup that for me don’t justify the price.
I almost got the FFtype1 vs the skunk2 but a friends of mine had the skunk2 on his car and the setup was reliable and really nice so just go with it because i had a real good feedback from a
person near of me.

For the traction bar it is for a question of design…The Full-race and the k-tuned are really not well design. If you take time to look at picture below on the side bar on each extremity it is a balljoint vs the innovative that you have a balljoint and a solid mount just like honda have design on the oem one that you see on the second picture. So the Full-race and the k-tuned are not working they are almost completly free…

Hope it responds to your question!

Thanks for the quality answer man. I was planning on going with the Innovative traction bar but it’s good to hear other people’s experience and reasoning. I’m kinda jealous with how fast this thing is coming along and i’m still waiting to play with mine ha.

Haha thats a pleasure! I worked hard to get all this parts together and i got many good friends who are helping me with this!

So i bought a few weeks ago my steering!

And a quick one with no more dust haha

Tomorrow i’m working on the engine wiring see you soon

Clouds for days haha. Glad to see it coming together. Do you think it will be ready to hit the streets by the time spring rolls around?

Looks badass man, How low does the innovative traction bar sit? I’m currently in the market for a bar since my OEM one is garbage.

Thanks for the comment!

Haha the objective is to finish the car in the end of april. After this i drive the car and fix the minor problems.

The suspension is not totaly set but you can go low enough for a good higher.
I will take a picture if you want the next time i will work on the car.

So recently i pull out the dash to install a new heater core…And also to drill a hole for the cable clutch.
The mess haha

The new heater core

And my pedal assembly that my good friend have sandblast and paint for me!

awesome build. cant wait to see it all done.
im about to take a 90 ls auto and a 91 gs 5 speed and make one and do basically what your doing.

Looking good! How do you like that steering wheel? I almost went with one of those.

Thanks ilovemetj appreciate

The Steering feel really nice i love the touch of it and it is just a little deep not too much.

I will keep you update guys i’m waiting for my rad they got problem with the shipping…Should have it in 2 weeks…:getsome:
I will probably finishing the adjustement of the suspension this weekend.

Hey bro this is a little late but mishimoto sells some hoses for the da I got all mishimoto stuff the rad the single fan and the hoses not cheap but I like it, anyways good job you didn’t slack on anything and keep up the good work glad to see you taking this a level up then the average lol, good job also on the front traction bar I have 2 I have a explicit speed one and a full race one no complaints amazing design my car is so low lol with a beefy traction bar expect contact on speed bumps and some pot holes

Hi, I’m doing similar swap so I have a few questions.

is there any modifications you did to the engine??
Second, does it have to be a type r fuel pump??
third what cluster did u use?

thanks ahead

Directly on the engine not really.

-You will have to put the t-bracket (Where go your rear motor mount) of your b18a and put it on your new engine.
-For the fuel pump yes i installed a typer but it is the as a regular integra dc.
-For the cluster you have two choice…S2k cluster or The original one
If you go with the s2k you can keep your vss that is in your hydro transmission and do the rest with some diy that you will found easily.
If you go with the original one I THINK i’m not sure i need to take a look on it because this is what i will propably do you
have to fit the speed module that is in your DA transmission into your hydro one.

Also if you have an automatic DA make sure you got the good transmission mount
because the bracket where the trans mount go is not the same between manual and auto.

The only one that make the trans mount for DA auto to manual with hydro casing is innovative.

Hope that respond to your question!

See you soon

I do have an auto, so mount I’ll have to get. but i didnt know i need a T bracket from my old engine.
I think i’ll go with the original cluster, looks more fitting in that car.

Hi guys! Long time no see haha

Last year I finally drove the car. I will try to update a little more the tread this summer.
I let you with a quick picture.

Some others soon!
