Does anyone have or know someone that owns one of those spiral tipped hayame mufflers on their car. I just recently bought one of those “fake cats” off ebay which is just a pipe that goes in place of the cat but with heat plates on it to make it look like a cat. Anyways, it was .5 inchs to short and I pulled my whole exhaust forward to fit it, and now the exhaust vibrates and its annoying. Back to the point, Im getting a custom exhaust out a mandrel bent tubing, and I need a sweet muffler of some type to go with it. The longer N1 style mufflers catch my eye, but the hayame muffler is similar but has that spiral tip on it which you probably wouldnt see after all the soot from the exhaust but as far as sound i dont want it to be hideously loud. I dunno if its a myth but I heard the longer the muffler the quieter it is, which makes much sense, but im no genious. Any word?
from what i’ve read any n1 muffler will be loud.i would say get the apex’i brand muffler, which has a nice deep tone to it.hks and skunk2 also makes mufflers.
If you’re just getting a muffler, manaflow seems to have pretty good ones… and in all sizes too. Even one about the size of stock one, which is pretty quiet too… with a deeper tone. this just what i’ve heard… i plan to look into one in near future hopefully.
I got a DC Sports but it was kinda expensive thou.
