Need your help diagnosing. I am pretty sure it’s my head gasket is blown but need some confirmation. Motor is a sleeved/built, ls/vtec turbo.
I went to the track yesterday, it was a really hot day. With 31 degrees celcius, and super humid on top of that. After making my first pass I see coolant pouring out from under my hood, and my temp guage moving to hot really fast. I pop the hood after my run, and the overflow bottle had filled up so much that it popped the top right off! After I let the car sit, and cool for a bit I started her up, and poped the cap on the rad to see if she would bubble, which would indicate my HG was gone. Quite a few bubbles, big ones too, but the over flow tank was empty, sucking all the coolant back in the system??
Im guessing I popped my HG, but not sure? What do you guys think? Help!
That’s what I thought. I currently run a Cometic 84mm head gasket, but im going to try the Golden Eagle OEM over bore at 84mm. Im also getting a set of their Ls/Vtec dowel pins so im sure the head mates up to the block perfectly along with perfect alignment on the head gasket.
Definitely headgasket. Sorry to hear that bro, hope everything works out. Looks like we have the same setup, how much boost were you pushing? Did you ever dyno your car?
Im running about 22-23psi on C16 race fuel. I’ve already got the new parts on the way. OEM 84mm over bore GE HG, ARP ls/vtec head studs, and the GE ls/vtec dowel pins.
Motor is tuned on AEM ems, and made 450whp@314tq at 24psi on a Garrett T3/T04E 50 trim w/ a .63 A/R
