what’s the easiest way to remove the lowest bolt on the heat shield…It’s pretty damn hard to get to it…or anyone wanna come over and take it off for me?? haha seriously…help !
i used an open end wrench. of course i was installing the heat sheild not removing it…but that shouln’t matter. I forget if i was under the car or up top though. Either way…it was a pita!!! but it can be done.
A little Liquid Stench, or any penetrant…some times it helps to use impast action on the the wrench with the palm of your hand or a deadblow while pulling on the wrench with your other hand.
Have you pulled the AC fan out? It’s very easy to remove, and makes the job a bit easier. I pulled my fan for installing my header.
thanks for the help guys…I’ll try removing the fan today…two of my friends tried to work on it…no luck…it’s so tight in there…toyt like a toyger…
Just a tip for after removing the stock manifold: replace the studs that the header bolts to. The old one’s tend to break when you torque the nuts on them. The higher your mileage the weaker they will be.
