Heat fan help needed!

i went to the movies tonite and the fans where working when i got there, and after the movie i went to turn the heat on and the fans do not come on. i checked the fuses under the dash and none are blown. I have no idea what it could be so i hope that someone has some ideas

i am having the same problem except mt stereo turns off when i try to turn the fan on(which dosnt turn on neither) its sparatic too!
try finding the ground for it
maybe thats your problem, or your blower motor is broke
good luck

Check your fan resistor… (you are talking about your heater fan, right??)… the fan resistor mounts top down into the blower housing behind the dash… Usually your fan will work only on high I think… it’s a cheap part to replace too.
(very common)

i think the whole thing is dead, cus it does nothing even on high, and i realy dont know how to check to see what is broke, looks like im going to have to take it somewere and get them to look at it, then i might be able to fix it my self!

9 out of ten times if your heater motor isnt working then it it probably the heater resistor. It it easy to check, all you have to do it remove the glove box.(2 screws on top, 2 covered screws on the bottom) Then pull it out and you will see the resistor on top of the heater motor housing/assembly. There will be a blue/ black wire connector pluged into it. Disconnect it. Unscrew the 2 screws that hold it in place. Pull it out and look at it, if the wires on the bottom are broken its time to replace. If not, then check for continuity between the high and low connection. If it is ok the test for continuity in the heater/a/c switch. If that is also ok check for 12 V on the power wire connects into the bottom of the heatr motor. If there is voltage its time to replace the heater motor. I posted a ‘how to replace the heater motor’ a few weeks ago, do a search for it… I wouldn’t reccommend taking it in to a shop for this cause if you to they will charge you about $300 for a motor and $150 labor to test the resistor/switch/and motor. I just finished doing the whole job myself with a heater motor from a wrecker for 50 bucks. I also think the heater motor in 88-92 preludes will fit in tegs, but not positive.

thanks man, ill check that as soon as it stops raining
