Ride: 1992 Acura Integra GS
dropped in an engine with a 91 block w/ 1994 head. I put all the regular mods, that i had on my old engine (blown 1992 ls engine). Well the engine runs fine , everything works except that it does’nt make any power after 5k and it is pathetically slow! (similiar to putting a civic dx engine in a heavy integra frame). I need help to figure out what is wrong. We used the distributor, and injectors from my 92 ls engine. Everything else is the 1994 head. is it the distrubtor?injectors? fuel regulator? Throttle body. We pluged a disc like piece on the TB on the intake manifold, it said “up” on it-what is it? i doubt that would cause this significant decrease in overall power and torque in all rpm ranges. ![]()
I will give all the information i know, if you need more…I just need HELP! THANKS!

Have you checked the timing? Also what mods have you put on it?
i have iridium spark plugs, short ram intake, and 9.2mm sparkco wires…no i haven’t checked my timing btw- i don’t know how to and my friend who installed it won’t be back until a week.
if things couldn’t get better…my speedometer just stopped working…i don’t know why. But it still runs fine:shock:

check the speedo cable…it could be loose… that happened to me once…
?as anyone had engine problems similar to this? could timing really screw up an engine’s performance like that? wouldn’t you think it was the distrubitor/fuel regulator/injectors?-cause that was from a 1992 ls head, not a 1991 which is the block.
I thinks it’s the head gasket…there’s oily water down in the sparkplug bay (
, i know!) <—bad valve cover seal?
BTW, MY SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING!! where’s the speed cable? how do i fix this? my rpm gauge still works.
