can anyone tell me an easy way to get the speedo cable back in?
i removed the cluster and now i cant get that darn cable back in the cluster… thanks
can you give more details? did you break the connector there? for the time being I can only tell you that the wire has a square cross section which has to be taken care of while inserting it into its slot, also check the tranny side sometimes the end there tends to leave its slot.
disconnect it from the tranny and feed some of it into the passanger compartment. It makes it at lot easier!
To disconnect it from the tranny follow the cable from the fire wall. Lift up the rubber dust boot and pull out the exposed ring clip. The speedo cable will pull out of the tranny very easily.
i put mine back in without taking the cable out of the tranny …but that took about an hour to get it lined up
yea thanks for the help guys i got it in that same day
also took me about an hour to line it up right…
hey is the speedo wire the lil black wire thingy with the needle kinda like thing that goes into the back of the cluster ( the lil silver hole) that runz the speedometer? cuz i jus installed in my indigloz and my MPH thing dont run, is tha the problem?
yes
itz hella hard to line up that crap wire to put back in, and i think that itz not holding in place thatz why itz not running…
Took me forever just to FIND the speedo cable coming out of the firewall. Course it was dark and I was using a flashlight. But for any losers like me, if you stand over the passenger side fender you’ll see the wire coming out to the right of where the steering column would be, at a sharp angle to the fire wall and going into the back of the tranny. Putting that rubber boot back over the clip is a b1tch! Any tips?
