Help I Hit a curb

I got ran off the road by some guy in an explorer and hit a curb and now my car is all messed up. I work for acura and I had it checked out at work and they said I have a bent " I beam" and 2 shot " CV boots" they didn’t even give me an estimate on repair cost, they told me it’s not even worth fixin, so I’m not sure what to do, should I get rid of the car and just buy a new car or fix it, please help thanks

Are you getting anything back from the insurance company? If you are, are they giving you money to repair it or are they totalling it? It doesn’t really sound like it’s totalled but sometimes it doesn’t take much for the repairs to cost more than the ins company feels the car is worth. Hopefully it isn’t totalled and you can take the money and swap in the suspension from an ITR. Unless of course the frame is damaged then get rid of it.

i hit a curb about 5 weeks ago and i bent my subframe connector
maybe thats what they meant it cost me 730 to fix so i would check into a smaller shop

I didn’t report it to insurance because i was passing on a double yellow and this guy tried to hit me with his explorer. therefore i won’t be getting any money back

Are you kidding?!? He “tried” to hit you?

Wait - before I laugh my ass off at your post, do you mean the guy in the lane that you were making an illegal pass into while heading the wrong direction is the “reason” your car is wrecked? :confused: So the guy going the right way is at fault for “trying” to hit you while you were in his lane?

Seriously, now I am just trying to picture this and give you the benefit of the doubt.

Anyone else confused?

I’m guessing that as he went to pass the explorer the guy swerved at him and to avoid being hit he swerved and hit a curb. That was my interpretation.

My bad then if you were passing the Explorer :frowning: … I assume he took off when you hit the curb?

yea as i tried to pass him the guy got pissed and tried to ram me with his explorer and I was forced to hit the curb

wow, that sounds like too much for me!!! Are u sure he didn’t take a shot gon and make a swing on u??
