I’m planning to install a drag turbo kit myself. How hard is it to do it? Anything I need to know or is it plug and play? How many oil lines do I need to tap? All I have to do is just tap one hole into the oil pan and that it right? anything else i should look for?
The install is pretty straight forward, give yourself alot of time though. You actually only tap the one oil line. Run a steel braided line from your oil sending unit to the turbo. The oil Return is where you have to tap the oil pan. The best thing to do is to remove it, take it to a shop and have them weld it on for you for like $10-20 bucks. This is where most leaks occur from, so it’s wise to do it right the first time.
One other thing I had to do was get a Flex-pipe made at a local muffler shop, since my downpipe would not line up with my cat. No big deal, like an extra $30-40.
I’d say the hardest part is fitting the Intercooler into the bumper, I had to have mine trimmed like hell. Good Luck.
ok so this is all that I will need then . to run a steel braided line from the oil sending unit is simple right, and evrything is is just bolt on?
It should be from drag, but sometimes you have to modify things just a little bit.
Get a good dremel, or grinder to cut that bumper/support though… took 3 hours to get mine to fit.
