High Performance Filters for Intakes

Okay, my cold air intakes filter is so dirty now. I have looked at the material, and don’t think that this filter is washable. It has more of a paper material that will probably just fall apart if I wash it. I have been thinking about a K&N filter, but when I looked at a catalogue at an auto store, all the filters seemed to big and goofy, and the filter that looked like it would work was only sold as a intake upgrade for like $300!!! I was like what??? The piping looks like the same size as my intake, but the clerk said they didn’t sell the filter seperately. BS!!! Okay, someone tell me where I can get a K&N filter for my intake. It is an aluminum Tenzo R with 3 bend. If you know of another high quality aftermarket filter, let me know. However, I would like to keep the cost between $50-60 for a K&N.

You can get K&N filters separately. Check http://www.knfilters.com/wheretobuy.htm and they’ll give you a list of places that sell em.

Thanks, but I already know that they are sold seperately. I just want to know which one would work with my intake. Does anyone have any part numbers?

K&N has a cleaner kit also, it shouldnt fall apart. I have a 3" filter but i have a short ram…i know most cai have a skinier filter.

Check out
optauto.com

oops, I don’t have a cold air intake, it’s a short ram. I made a cold air inlet, but it is a short ram. Sorry about that. So you have a K&N filter??? I have seen the cleaning kit. It is the cleaner/activator kit with the oils. I don’t know if it will work. My filter is about 3" long.

please give me the link on that site! I cannot find the filter you mentioned, there is no search option. So it is a trustworthy business?

I ended up getting this from Summit:

K&N Chrome Filter

at a very good price, it is slightly thinner than the K&N that you got, but it is still 5" long. What I really like about it is that it has a Chrome end cap that is stamped with K&N (bling bling). I will let you guys know how this works out, and then update with pics.
