Did enibody has a diagram, probably instruction on how to open up my dash board…??? lately it seems shaking so hard n there is a rattling sound coming from it. If possible can somebody guide me to fix it…
Is the JDM dash identical to the USDM dash, only reversed? It looks like it from the picture. From page 20-75 of factor service manual (USDM):
- To remove the dashboard, first slide the seats back fully.
- Remove the right and left dashboard lower panels.
- Remove the front console.
- Remove the knee bolster (Driver’s).
- Disconnect the wire harness from the connectors and fuse box.
- Lower the steering column.
- Disconnect the ground cable at right of steering column.
- Remove the instrument panel.
- Remove the four screws, then pull the guage assembly out half-way and disconnect the speedometer cable and connectors.
- Disconnect the antenna cable, wire connector and loosen the 2 screws, then remove the stereo radio.
- Disconnect the shift posion switch and shift lock wire connectors from the dashboard wire harness (A/T model).
- Remove the clock from the top of the dashboard.
- Remove the side defroster garnishes from both ends of the dashboard.
- Remove the dashboard mounting bolts (6 bolts).
- Lift and remove the dashboard.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Ben
actuaully there are two things i would add to this. since i took my dash out before. I would remove the front seats all together. Only four srews on the floor hold them in. This will give you alot more room to work with. And remove the steering wheel. Now i was planning on replacing the stock wheel in a racing steering wheel so we kinda broke the center cap it to get it off. Im sure there is a way to do it without damaging it… Ive done both removals of dashes one with the seats and steering wheel on and one with the seats out and wheel off. the second option made things alot easier.
