How intense is a 75 shot in our cars?? I have my zex kit finally and im wondering how intense is it gonna be when I spray the 75 nozzle (if i ever get the balls to). is it gonna nail my head to the seat or just give me a good acceleration?
From what I understand you need a good fuel managment system to prevent your A/F ratio from leaning out at high RPMs.
I just talked to a guy with a 99 Civic HB with the 1.6L SOHC Vtec engine who had the Zex kit. He said he went from a 18.0 1/4 mile to 15.8 seconds with a 65hp shot. But his motor also blew up because of the poor fuel managment.

Do you know how quick my quater mile times could be? The zex site has a sohc hatchback with just a header that ran a 13.4 with the 75 shot.
i thought that the zex kit is controlled by the NMU so that when there is not enough gas it stops spraying the nitrous. im probably wrong, but thats what zex told me on the phone
I was able to run a 14.3 1/4 mile when i was using a 75 shot of Nos. My mods at the time was, clutch, exhaust, intake, fuel pressure regulator + fuel rail, and an MSD ignition.
I ran 70shot and it will put you back in your seat. Took me awhile to catch the rpms from 3K in 3rd to shift before I hit the rev limiter. I just ran colder plugs(step 7), inline fuel pump, 2 degree retarded ignition for FUEL MANAGEMENT. I’m unaware of the newer kits, but from what I heard, there are alot more precautions to avoid engine damage, ie. programs that can retard ignition under NOS and increase FUEL supply, as well. Mine was just a plain Jane Direct Port.

My roomate runs a ~70 shot on his Miata… His mods are a underhood intake, a caat and an ACT clutch… His NA runs have been about ~16.1-16.5… His best run squeezing is 14.1 Thats with a ZEX kit with stock timing with only the mods listed above… No bottle heaters etc, just a plan jane ZEX kit… BUT- Mazda motors are known to handle FI much better than out Honda motors… I’d say be VERY careful and dont do it until your truly truly ready… Good luck and have fun!!! That civic is not stock, it runs 15.0 on the motor only.It also blew the engine.
