how much psi should i boost into my b16?for a safe max power and everyday driving?
i am going to be boosting 29psi in my b16
stock???
no far from it
aebs sleeves
83mm cp pistons (9:1 comp)
eagle h-beam rods
pro-drive oil pump gear
ferrea valves .5mm bigger both sides
crower valve springs and retainers
crower stage 2 turbo cams
and the list goes on and on there is not one part that has not been changed on the motor hoping to have 550whp after being tuned
the most i would go with on a stock b16 is 10psi tune it on a dyno and it should last
I’d like to chime in on this. I am a Hondata dealer and Over a year ago a guy with a black turbo ITR had me install and tune a Hondata system for him. He had a POS ebay manifold and was overboosting becuase of faulty wastegate design. The turbo he was running was a precision sc63/t3 hybrid. Its wastegate (tial 35mm) had a 12psi spring and ovened at 4400 but after 6000 the boost raized and was hitting about 1.5bars. I added enough fuel to compensate for the rising boost and tookaway timing to safe gaure the engine. I finally stopped tuning once we made 425 whp at 1.8 bars on stock block and 93 octane. results and dyno are on www.atsracing.net
Joe.
i want to boost about 14 psi on a stock b16 block might depending only if i have the new hg in and aebs headstuds. otherwise imma bit scared to run anything over 10-11 psi.
