how much for new bearings? (ls/vtec)

its recommended to replace all bearings in the ls block, how much does this usually run for? i really want my LS/vtec set up to be refreshened up, my block has 139,000 miles on it… (was in my car). thanks

bearings alone from honda will cost about $240. But you can get them from www.ahmotor.com for a little less. Or you can opt for some comparable aftermarket ones like ACL for about $150-$200 (these are what dan has in his motor)

what does ACL stand for and where can you purchase these bearings?

Thanks,
Shaun Ladd

I would go with oem bearings, those aftermarket ones are new to the market…

Go with the honda bearings that’s what i did for mine. Besides you get in to many diffrent size bearings with honda’s so go with something you know is going to be right

ACL are just as good. trust me, Dan wouldn’t be using them if they weren’t as good or better than OEM. He has taken zero short cuts with his motor and built it to be a very fast, long lasting daily driver.

I just bought ALL brand new OEM main bearings and connecting rod bearings for $150 bucks from hondaautomotiveparts.com.

I have ACL bearing right in front of my face too, but they are the wrong size for my b20 engine. But make sure you look in the Helms manual to find out which bearings you need. I think the ones I have the ACL ones that don’t work with my setup are the yellow bearings. I need the brown and green ones.

If you need them I’ll sell them to you for cheap since I don’t need them.
