where can I get a non Pro-Series manifold? I thought that’s all they sold, nowadays.
should be able to get them from any tuner shops
whats up man, how you been ? well anywayz for your question skunk2 now only makes the pro series (intake manifold), I still like your car when it wasn’t as low as it is now ha ha, but that’s your choice of course regardless am happy for you and congrats on your build it’s definitely come a long long way .
I’m good man. The car has definitely come a long way. When the tree fell on it, that was just about a wrap. But, I couldn’t let it go. Now, I’m trying to forget about it and get it to where I wanted it. I feel I’m just a few tax refunds away from it being in it’s “complete” stage
hey guys. I’m in the market for a set of cams that will go well for my current plans of the motor. I’m not really trying to buy a set of ITR cams new from the dealer, as they are quite expensive. So, I’m considering an aftermarket alternative. I’m having a little trouble finding camshaft specs for the OEM ITR camshafts.
So, for the time being, I’m looking into a set of Crower 63402 VTEC cams. They claim to be a “stage 2” cam set. I had a set of 402 non vtec cams in my old LS, and they worked great with the stock valve train.
It must be known, that I WILL be upgrading the valve train. Likely going with Supertech springs/retainers.
I plan on keeping the bottom end stock, for now. So, the reason I’m going with a mild cam is that I don’t want to “over cam” my engine. I don’t want something designed for ignorantly high compression. That’s why I want stock Type-R or equivalent. So, if someone knows where I could get the specs for ITR cams to compare to the specs of the Crower cams, that would be great.
My goals are, with a good tune, to hit the 190-200whp range.
Current bolt ons:
3" short ram intake (might toy with a cold air extension on tuning day, to see what differences it makes on the setup)
4-1 ITR replica header with 2.5" collector
Vibrant 2.5" high flow cat
Greddy SP2 full exhaust system
as mentioned, the header is likely to be replaced, and the intake manifold is obviously being replaced for something a little more “conventional” looking.
will be tuning the P72 with Hondata s300.

with that set up… you’ll probably be close to 160-170whp depending on dyno…
I’d recommend:
-Ported ITR intake manifold (aka skunk 2 or blox if you can find it)
-Bored out ITR TB with IM port matched
-3" single bend intake tube with a velocity stack
-Skunk 2 Pro 2 cams
-4-1 header with 2.5" collector
-2.5" test pipe
-complete 2.5" exhaust set up (ie: magnaflow resonator and muffler)
-FPR with injectors
-with your S300
Should see between 175-195 whp…
you’ll need higher compression to hit 200whp w/ the pro2’s… but you’ll be getting over 200whp i think.
do you have a tuner picked out yet? If not, I have the perfect guy for you in Beltsville, MD.
I’ve got a person in mind in Winchester, VA. But, depending on their rates, as they’re under new ownership, I might have to look into your guy. hit me up at jake870621345@hotmail.com. I’d be glad to talk business

Perhaps I was a little vague in my previous post. But those are my current bolt-on goodies. I’ll be going with a few select other parts as well. Also, likely swapping to a different header. That Toda header REALLY has me interested. Anyhow, I currently have a 3" single bend intake available, and am already using a Blox velocity stack with filter. I don’t really want to replace the exhaust as I really love the sound of the SP2, and it keeps me out of trouble. I don’t mind having a 1/8" diameter difference if it means keeping the sound reasonable. I don’t really want to go with something like the Pro 2 cams, as David mentioned, that they are a bit much for my compression ratio. I want to keep the bottom end stock for now. That’s why I was curious on the specs between the ITR cams and the 63402 VTEC cams I mentioned earlier. Seeing that the 402 NON VTEC cams were very subtle, I would imagine the VTEC versions to be in the same category. Mild, but still a bit more aggressive than a stock cam set. BUT, since I have a lock on the ITR cams I desired originally, I’m not concerned about that now.
Thanks to a certain, baller OG on here, I have secured a set of ITR cams and valve-train, so THAT search is over. Now, I just need to get my intake manifold woes taken care of. past that, it’s just the normal wear and tear items (timing belt, water pump, etc.) and then getting her tuned once all the parts are in. I’m hoping to hear back from Kyle10182 about his tuner, as I’d like to talk to him and the tuner soon. Want to get to know the guy who’s gonna be tuning the car
Good choice.I would have recommended a set of skunk2 stage 2 tuner series as they are mild with little valve train upgrade and still idle like stock, but require some tuning at the dyno. As far as the type r cams I’ve used them on a poor man’s build so those are very good for street/strip, but don’t require any valvetrain upgrade or dyno, but a good valve adjustment will do.
Found a first gen Skunk2 Intake Manifold. Thanks, Matt (dalejrfan88). He did me a huge solid last year with the parts I needed to put this car back together after it was essentially destroyed, and now, he comes through with a semi-rare intake manifold for a good price.
how far are you from Quantico? I’ll be up there next month and I’m gonna see if they let me bring my ride…
jake the snake.
Dave, my ninja
did you get that thing on yet…
thats what she said
not my fault i dont use them often…wait wut LOL
not yet. probably not going on until spring time. I don’t want to put it on before I do the cams, tune, etc. gonna do a baseline dyno session, in a few weeks, just to see where I’m at “as is”. Then, do the work when I get my taxes back so I can have plenty of $$ for a great tune.
I MIGHT be adding something else to the mix that should get me a few extra ponies, come Spring. Something that should almost guarantee my 200whp NA goal. No it’s not nitrous.
I just went through this whole thread and its pretty damn inspirational. Nice work man.
