intercooler questions/ body kit

My qustion today is whats the best front bumper for a drag turbo and intercooler. i want the cooler to breath well

Oh and another thing

Does any one know a good shop to get my turbo put in. in san diego?

It will breathe well through either of the OE bumpers, most aftermarket ones have a BIG cutout in the center that looks nice with an IC tucked behind it. The best way is to allow a bit of air to get past the IC to hit the radiator.

You seem to have a handle on things by the look of your car. what steps should i do to get started on turbo charging my car? should i got with the vtec swap or keep the b18 and put vtec head on it. should i just leave it non vtec? so many options so little time. before the races this summer. can you send me on the right path i have a budget of about 5gs thanks

I tell everyone this…

If I could do it all over again, I would have rebuilt my B18A and boosted that instead of the stock B16A route I took. Don’t get me wrong, I love my setup, it’s just for about the same money, I could have boosted crazily on a built engine rather than went with the swap and be limited to the amount of boost I can run. Unless your having alot of problems with your current engine, just keep it.
As for the buildup, you should first decide on how much power you want to make-it’s no use building your engine to handle 30 psi, if your not going to use it, you know.
I personally went with a DRAG kit, cause I didn’t want to bother getting things I didn’t know I would need until it was too late. More expensive in the long run, but…
For $5G’s, you should be alright. Hit me with any ?'s you come across. Good Luck

well

well can you recondmend any shops in san deigo that would be familiar with turbo charging a older car? i want to do it right you know. i want to use right internals with right externals and be able to use this as a daily driver.

so have you had any problems with turbo charging your car? does it add alot of extra wear on your still stock parts? i really dont want to add nos like every one else does for quik horses . i want somthing i can mantain and drive normal , but also be able to give bigger cars a run for the money . I like your all stock sleeper attituide.

How much WHP would 10PSI give you and what would be needed to run that amount of boost on a b18a ? Thanks!

Sorry man, from Nor Cal, not familiar with shops down there. I hear the best tuner shops are there, though.

18 months and no probs related to normal wear and tear. I had some trouble with a tow truck, but that’s another story. Whenver you add 50-75% more power to your engine your going to increase the wear on it. Tuning and proper installation will definately reduce some of this stress, though.
I went the NOS route and liked it-till my bottle was empty. I rarely really get on my throttle too hard, usually only to merge into traffic and onto the freeway. Other than that, I drive my car everyday to and from work.
