Intro w/my DB2 GSR project

u still have spoiler…?? if its up for grabs i can def use it mine cracked in half. if so can u send pics to my email??? shockey201@aol.com

Saw the car yesterday. Unloaded it from the trailer and then managed to drive it inside my barn, even though the car had 0 brakes at the time haha.

The problem with the brakes was that the master cyl had run dry… I imagine one of the caliper seals must be blown. Tomorrow I am going to quickly replace all the seals and then bolt everything back together. When I am home in November I’m going to sandblast the calipers and paint them black. Also have new pads & rotors for them. I’m not sure where the gas tank leak is but it’s pretty bad. I’ll have to toss in the new tank & filler neck in next time I’m home.

The interior of the car looks to be mint, no issues with it, just need to find some OEM floormats. The sunroof is stuck slightly open, so I am going to have to swap the sunroof out with the one from my other 92.

The body is definitely cleaner than my other GSR. There are a lot of small areas that are starting to bubble but definitely not as far gone as the other car. Both rockers will have to be touched up near the rear, and the passenger side rear window will have to come out so I can patch up a small area up near it. The only other area to be addressed is the back bumper mounts on the pass side, they’ve rusted out, which is why there’s such a large bumper gap on that side.

Anyways, on to a couple pics from yesterday of when the car was on the lift.

Picked up a couple new parts for it (other than the pads/rotors):

energy suspension master kit

energy RTA kit

Trans out of a 91 DA w/ a quaife ATB differential

Skunk2 dualbend short throw:

BWR lugs & skunk2 drain plugs

Nice pick up on the 2nd gsr! Looks like you are well on your way to getting it back on the road.

^ Thanks! Will definitely never be as mint and OEM as yours but I’m doing what I can.

Was good to be home for the weekend and drive the Legend one last time this season. Heading back to Boston tomorrow with the STI.

Got some work today but not all that I wanted. Got the front calipers rebuilt and back on the car but the rears (w/ the parking brake in them) were a huge PITA.

Also discovered that Legend calipers will bolt up to DA hubs… will have to see what rotor I should buy in order to use them. Don’t think I can run them with 14" wheels. Will be a future upgrade… Legends are on left, DA on right

Here’s a pic of the nasty gas tank & gas lines, good thing I have a brand new tank & filler neck to toss in. I will be replacing the hard lines next time I’m home as well.

Parking brake line also looks frayed and nasty so I will be replacing them:

Here’s how she sits for the next 5 weeks:

The plan for next time I’m back:
brakes - rebuild rear calipers, sandblast front/rear calipers and paint black, install calipers / new rotors / new pads, replace parking brake cable

body - pull gas tank/filler neck, replace rusted out lines and gas tank/filler neck

suspension - install tein coilovers / energy suspension bushings. also sandblast / powdercoat all suspension pieces that have been removed

if time, also install the exhaust… doubt I will have time to do that though.

Well, got some solid work done over this past brake.

Got the brakes all done, however they are still really soft after bleeding so I am planning to replace the master cylinder. Also replaced the parking brake lines but didn’t bother hooking them up.

I also swapped the gas tank out, replaced all the lines, however there is one small leak in one of the lines, because I didn’t flare the hard line. Going to fix that when I’m home again as well.

Pics should speak for themselves mostly! I also picked up a set of WingsWest side skirts.

Coming along nicely! I’m so jealous of your lift…

Thanks man!

I would happily trade the lift for a nice rust-free DB2 from Cali haha.
