[B]Sick. Umm… about me coming up there today, I’ll most likely be at work until at least 6 or 7 tonight although we’re so busy that I’m on the computer this much. So, you might be out of luck for today.
What distributor are you using? I was under the impression that Vtec distributors don’t work on LS motors and vice versa. Then again, my last string of info came from a friend with a b16 that has never turned over. I could be wrong.
Whether it’s running or not, I’d still like to see it. The only one I have ever seen is Loc’s. I rode in his GSR as well and that was the first time I felt an Integra go through gears that quick. I dunno, I guess I’m weird like that.
I have an off topic question for you… I’m an Installer at Tweeter in Encinitas, and I was wondering if you have been in our Temecula store. I was going to work on getting a transfer up there IF they have a car Install department. No one here can seem to answer that for me. There’s a lot of kids around there that get cash from the casinos and they are more than willing to use it to impress their friends.
The only free days I have are thursday and friday, other than that I’m in the bay for 12 hrs a day. Let me know when you’re moving and we’ll figure something out. Late.

well, i got it running finally. i’ll be coming down to SD tonight cause i’ve got school tomorrow. And i’ll be away for the weekend too.
not so sure about the tweeter, i haven’t been in there.
personally i would go with a b18c longblock thats what i did and other member JOE from sd is doing (but his is going to be fully built ):bang: get a 94-95 block (cheaper ) your still obd1 and should not have a problem getting reffed as long as you get usa spec block keep all smog equipment and have everything stock as possible , i really doubt a ref is going to question about hyrdo tranny but you can use a 94-95 sticker and put it on your tranny if you are worried , personally i like the b17a but is rare so the price isnt cheap why not get a b18c motor for a little more and get a extra 10 hp and 14 lbs of torque , you can always build your block like itr like dan and JOE
this what i paid for the swap
i sold my old ls motor tranny ecu for 900 dollars after misc stuff i paid 1500 now if you build the motor its going to cost you more ofcourse
b17 motors go for 900-1400 (most of them have high miles )
ys1 gsr tranny 500 (best cable tranny very rare expensive)
b17 ecu 200
act clutch 400
the price is about the same its your choice
hey colin i would like to check out your built b17 setup one of these days

i recommend that you go out of town to have your motor reffed (your friend too). I’ve talked to the local ref (chula vista) and he’ll fail you. That guy knows his ****! seriously.
And if you do throw in a b18c make sure you do so with the stock intake manifold and don’t go for a skunk2 yet…and don’t try for a poorman’s itr (he’ll definitely fail you for that). Technically there is also something on the gas tank that must be switched over. Not sure if he’ll check, but when i talked with him on the phone about throwing a 94-95 gsr motor in my car he told me i’d have to swap gas tanks, trannies, and obviously the emissions related stuff. So, definitely do your homework on what ref to go to.
well, the motor isn’t quite finished yet, its leaking oil so i gotta deal with that, it looks like its the head gasket, but hopefully not. at least its running. Its not built up at all, basically just a completely rebuilt motor. Since the motor was already out i figured my $$ would be better spent on a rebuild than on modding it, cause this way i know it’ll last a lot longer.
good luck w/ your swaps! (hopefully they go smoother than mine, lol)
yes you are right some refs no what there doing some dont really care as long as all the smog equipment is in that everthing looks stock and factory , i really dont see what swaping gas tanks would make a diffrence , i had a friend that had a jdm b16 and hooked up all american del sol equipment and the ref passed him ,as for me i didnt say my car would pass right now, i have the skunk2 mainfold and fpr gauge and cut valve cover so i know i wouldnt pass the thing that pisses me off is that honda motors are very emmisions friendly even built hondas espeacially vtec , my car can pass the straight emmisions test just not the visual i wish we could make like a state prop to vote to change this law ,i know im not the only one that hates the rules ,it sucks we get pulled over and get tickets for a stupid intake or fpr and my friend with his old smog exxemp nova running fully built motor with supercharger test pipe and load as hell exhaust he never gets any problems with his moving polluting vehicle he has even told me cops complomented him on his car , cops tell me what have you done to it , are you raceing tonight your exhaust looks illegal stupic S hit like that anyways sorry just venting :getsome:
