JDM ITR Header Clearance Issue

Anybody have the JDM ITR stock header? I’m just curious about how close the header is to the ground. I heard that looking at the exhaust pipe, the ITR header should drop below about 2" from the bottom of the exhaust pipe?

Also what I really want are pictures of it. If any of you guys have the header and can get a picture of it from the front where you can see it hanging down, or from the underside of the car even.

Thanks!!!

Contact Lyonel on this board. He has the JDM ITR header.

I take it you’re talking about the 4-1?

yeah, JDM ITR header is 4-1.

I emailed Lyonel, thanks Dan =)

i got the dc jdm…ask away

aim me or email

Man I need to know how long the cat I need to bolt up my 4-1 dc itr header to my greddy mx on a 92 teg! See I dunno what loengh I need my carsound cat made out so im kinda scared right now that I will have to go get it done in the spring when no one has time :frowning:

on my 93 gsr, it looks like i’ll have to notch more than just the lip of the crossmember…when i put it up there it hit the actual member itself and not just the lip…is that normal?

The ITR header has a 2.5" collector on it right? Which needs to bolt up to a 2.5" cat correct? Now how would I go about bolting those two up to my 2.25" RS*R Ex-Mag catback?

when you goto a muffler shop. just get them to weld a reducer from 2.5"-2.25" to your RS*R

What kind of cutting of the cross member is involved when installing? Is it major is just a minimal ‘notch’ to allow clearence? Anyone have any pictures?

That’s what I thought, I was looking at the Hedman Hedder page at those reducers…but they only make a 2.5" to 2" reducer. :frowning:

On my stock headers off a 2nd gen b16 i had to cut the crossmember almost in half down the side of the header due to how wide it is. there reallyt is no more support from it. I plan on welding a skid plate on the bottom of it to let it hang a little lower then the header and provide support incase i bottom out. It would also save the headers too. I cut a lil at a time and buy the time i got the crossmember to fit it was more cutting then i orginally planed. and made it weak in the middle only the worst place.
