Do any of you know when full boost would be attained with a Precision GT 35/55 T3/T4 turbo? How bad would lag be just any general information would be greatly appreciated. Also, give me some general ideas on good turbos that wont take extremely long to spool (i dont mind a little lag, im thinkin that i want it to be a highway car…lol) I want a turbo that will hold boost til redline. Im planning on building up a motor fully so no worries there, im just trying to get a general idea of what type of turbo to get.
Also, i dont mind spending a decent amount of money on a turbo, but i dont really wanna go over 1k.
GT35 and the Sc61 I believe use the same exh turbine. But there are missing pieces to your question. IE: what motor and size displacement are you using? I run a SC61 on a B16 and I get full boost at 5900rpm. When I had the same turbo on my LS/VTEC motor it would hit full boost at 5500rpm.
Not exactly what you are asking, but if you are concerned with lag/spool time check out the Precision GT3071. I dont really remember the exact specs on it, but we just finished a custom kit on a SCCA delsol using that turbo. The car has a bone stock B18b and makes full boost around 3600rpm, i almost shit myself on the test drive, it spools so hard.
both the 3071 and 2871 will give you insanely quick spool time and both will be good to 400 whp and higher (boosted-hybrid.com has a dyno of a 2871 on a 1.8L that was right at 400whp, and the 3071 is capable of more).
ive been thinkin about what i want more and i really dont want a highway machine…lol… and damn that 3071 sounds pretty damn sweet, im going to have to check it out because that would be pretty sweet.
