I just got my teg a month ago and had the oil changed and after about 1800 miles i had to add a quart of oil. ive heard its normal for these high revving cars to use a little but that seems to me to be a little more then a little. it has almost 140k on it now. whats the deal? also my dome light doesnt come on with the door opening but it works with the switch, and my front parking lights just stopped working. fuses are all good too. and suggestions would be cool. one other thing, i need some good tires for the rain, nothing fancy but good wet traction, thanks.
Hope this help:
Oil Problem: Check for leak. point ot check: cam seal, valve cover gasket, spark plug hole gasket, oil pan gasket, oil drain bolt and oil filter. You may wanna take out the spark plugs and check if oil is on the tip, hope not.
Dome Light: When u open the door and the key is turned to ACC or ON, did the “DOOR” signal on the gauge cluster lit. If not, it’s a rusty switch on the door jam. Take the switch off, sand down some rust and use WD-40. If the Door signal lit, but the dome light is not on, check the doom light switch position. Other wise, it’s a short.
Parking Light: you mean all the parking light (front and rear)? If not all of them, r u sure they were working b4? If you can not be sure, I think it’s just some bad bulbs. I found out my corner light should has 2 bulbs lit when parking light is on after 3 months I bought the car. None of the bulbs in the corner lenses worked when I first bought it.
Tires: Don’t be cheap on tires. It means more than a seat belt or airbag. I know some name brand tires only cost $30-$40 a piece from my work place, but they don’t look good to me and they are low-end tires. I got some Kumho 712 and they work great on both dry and wet roads, $70 a piece is not a bad price, but they are low mileage tires.
Just so you know, our bumper lights don’t light up like you would expect them too. They are only blinkers, yep the corner lights are the only front illumination for parking lights.
The little switches are also pretty cheap if you don’t feel like cleaning them.
I’d go with some all weather yokohamas or pirelli tires, they are usually pretty reasonably priced and have good wet traction without a lot of road noise. Watch out for high priced american tires, you don’t get what you pay for. In my oppinion
