Thought this might be useful info… I just bought some lowering springs off a friend who owns an EF CRX SiR (JDM) they are Merwede, and they do fit my stock DA6 shocks - the rear springs are just captive, so no troubles with that - and there is still a fair amount of travel left in the shock (though not much…) its a good 3" drop… here’s a photo for your viewing pleasure (on stock rims…)
i just slammed mine using focuz coilovers for a 96-00 civic. the coilovers are the ones with the additional helper spring. at first i used the helper spring, but it rode like shiznit so i removed the helper springs. my 17" katana c7s w/ 205/45/17 are now tucked in the wheel well to 1/2" above the rim itself. THE COILOVERS ARE ONLY ADJUSTED HALF WAY!!! it looks like i have air bags. th ride has a nice stiff bounce. best $50 i ever spent!!!(got em used)
it may have worked, but the spring rates might not be optimal. I’m guessing the spring rates are pretty low because the crx is so light weight. This might cause problems for you in the future (bottoming out more often as well as less performance in comparison to stiffer rate springs).
