LS / GSR Vortech supercharger

I’ve been shopping around for a supercharger for my '94rs and I’ve decided to get the Vortech system. I was wondering if I could get the gsr system installed on my LS, so after the current motor gets old I will have the correct setup for after I get my gsr motor. I’m definitely replacing the motor with a B18C within 6 months regardless of what I do.

ps - I’ve heard of this system making close to 300hp on a stock b18c … should i really expect that much ?

GSR and LS have a different intake manifold…one doesnt bolt up to the other properly

EDIT…wait, maybe Im thinking of the differences between the ITR/B16 intake manifolds…

Someone else confirm

All B series exhaust/intake manifolds bolt up properly.

I don’t know what other problems you would run into, but I think the only reason they have designated kits for certain engines/years is because of fitment issues… not too sure though.

Why vortech? Have you looked into JRSC?

Not true…I KNOW the B16/ITR intake manifolds are different than the LS manifolds. They may bolt up…but I think the coolant passages dont line up or something.

This has to be true or they wouldnt sell Intake Manifolds specifically for the B16/ITR separate from the LS/GSR.

You asked if they bolted up, I answered that yes “they bolt up properly.”

Properly would imply that you could run the engine with it bolted up…if someone read that, they might be confused.

i agree properly would mean all passages line up also. why would you say yes just cause the bolts line up wtf?

I’ve decided on vortech because i’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews of their products while jrsc seems to be having a huge number of complaints. Also I’m convinced roots-type blowers are only good for larger engines operating at lower rpm’s. The vortech is more like a turbo driven off of a pulley.

All LS’s/B20 = Same
B16/ITR and other PR3 style heads are different and cannot be interchanged
94+ GSR is super fucked and won’t touch anything else but a P75 head. P75 or P72… I forget which one is GSR, but you get it.

And no, the bolts don’t come close to lining up. I’ve seen some peoeple redrill and mod a PR3 manifold to fit an LS tho… big waste of tiem IMO, just get a Skunk 2 haha

Cool man. BTW, if you do swap to a B18C1 later on, jsut change out the manifold for a regular style like a Skunk2 or equivalent, then you don’t have to modify any of your pipping. I love Vortech

what kind of power should i expect on an LS and then the B18C with exhaust, header, intake ?

you mean exhaust and header. the intake doesnt really count because its the supercharger. I wouldnt expect much more than whatever the blowers rated at. a header and exhaust will give you maybe 8 hp.

Run a nice header with large primaries and collector

aye sorry but dis myte b off the subject…i was juss wondering if any one noes what it takes to run a turbo with da jackon racin super charger…?wut kinda internals, ems, etc…would i need…?

Why would you want to run both? One source of FI is good enough.

like Tchleung said 1 or the other is enough

and if u plan on putting JR SC on a G2 just forget about it. its more work than it is worth beings how the master cylinder/brake booster is in the way and the firewall is to close to the intake manifold, it would take alot of hacking to make a JR SC to fit on our g2’s, a couple people on here have i think but for the time you would put into it just go turbo cause with the right tuning you can make almost 3 times the power that the supercharger makes

Meguires had either an Integra or RSX a few years back that had this set up. I’m not sure about the set up but with enough money anything is possible.

Someone is fuckin with you folks…
