I don’t know the difference in km. on the two motors but i know the 92 has 10 more horse than the 91.![]()
Yeah the '92 is rated at 140Hp instead of 130Hp, so that’s always a plus.
On the other hand, the '92 probably has ABS right? And the '91 probably doesn’t? Most people prefer to not have the ABS (I know I wish my car didn’t have it) as it gets in the way of a few modifications (intake sometimes, and some strut braces) and adds weight to the car. If it were a better ABS system, it might be a different story, but it’s pretty primitive compared to the newer systems.
On the other hand… 10Hp is hard to turn up. ![]()
Forgot to mention a few things – if you look past the engine, you’ll find a few things most people prefer on the '92s over the '91s – bumper covers, taillights are the most common ones.
I’d either go with the '92 or look for an RS (no options, but weighs so much less) or a GS-R if you can afford it.
Well, from 90-93 … RS, GS or LS is the best to modify the engine?
or they all the same?
Talking about modification…i know thats those 92-93 have 10 more Hp.
thanks,
reeko
The motor on the GS, RS, and LS are all the same… go for the 92.
92…
then again, which is in better shape? mileage? service record? rust? sand-pitted windshield? work done to bring it to prime condition? All of these are things you should look at before making any decisions.

Well, a guy i know ( 42 year old ) own his 91’ integra LS … he got it brand new, still have all record, 240 000km.
ALmost no rust, not modified at all.
Original mags… the car is in good shape thats for sure
Hes asking 3000$ CAN
Other one is 92’ RS 155 000KM
18 year old owner, 3rd owner
intake, pipe, sound system ( 1000$ value)
some rust.
A/C
Tint windows
No mags ( black rims)
Hes asking 4500$ CAN
what you guys think i should go for… considering im gonna redo the exterior , interior…and id like to work on the engine, change engine next year maybe.
thanks,
Reeko
one other thing…do u want to roll your windows down or have power? I say the 92 RS cause its cheaper in the long run to not have to replace those motors.
Go with the 1991. Being older is not a concern here, as you said you are looking for an engine swap anyhow. Also, being a 1-owner, babied car (for only $3000 CDN!!), you’re getting GREAT piece of mind.
The 1992, 3-owner car has likely been abused (when u were 18, didn’t you redline at least once a day?). Also, with all those mods, it’s guaranteed you won’t be getting a good service record, if any at all.
For longer-term reliability, and easier upgrades, I’d try the 1991. If you’re swapping engines anyhow, the 2xx,000 KM on it now won’t really matter much.
Also, no rust = NICE. Get is rust-proofed EVERY YEAR, and it’ll stay relatively rust-free for years to come.

Okay i changed my mind… the 91 sounds better. I’m sure you can find some 92 cams for like $60.
ok, cool guys, thanks for info
Ill prolly buy it this week

Btw, whats the thing with the cams?
the '92 cams will give you the 10Hp…
But if you’re really doing lots of engine mods, you may as well go with some aftermarket cams like Skunk2 or something.
