yes i did a search, so bag that comment up and throw it away. i was reading a post on here say how i could buy a whole 1st gen b16a (OBD0) swap and make my 92-93 b18a (OBD1) to OBD0, is this true? and if not, what head will i have to use to make a good running LS VTEC?
YOu can use any dohc vtec b series head for an ls/vtec conversion.
HTH,
Adam
ok, well, does it matter OBD 1 or OBD 0? where does the OBD come into play?
you must have read the post wrong.
obd really doesn’t matter. you can use ANY obd block and head (this doesn’t affect the rest of the swap).
all you need to know is that you have a 92-93 which is obd1. therefore you need to use obd1 parts. the parts you need to worry about are: distributor, injectors, and ecu. Other than that you don’t need to worry about obd. So, regardless of what parts the head comes with… just make sure the parts you use are obd1.
read the vtec swap guide it describes this. swapping an ls/vtec into the car is the same as swapping in any other vtec engine (in terms of obd).
you DO NOT want to do any converting, this would be a very bad idea, cost a lot more, and be very difficult to do.
the only reason why you would want to convert would be if you had a 90-91 and needed to convert to obd1 to do a legal swap (like what i have to do).
where is the swap guide located?
in the teg tips. download it and memorize it (i know i’ve read it so many times i’ve pretty much commited it to memory). its probably the single most useful piece of info here on the board. oh, and don’t forget to download the ecu pinout as well, that will let you know how you’ll need to wire up for vtec.

You mean for example if you have a 91 GS and you are swapping in a b17a?
Just messing with you Colin.
