This is the reason its not in your favor to hire a tuner if you can do it your self… With a tuner it will get tuned but not really utilize the features available. So in a way even with the newest tech it will only work as good as everything else.
I’m not familiar with the road course at Mission but it would seem like an issue to keep the bigger charger spooled coming out of a turn into a straight or quick shot. I get that you can keep RPM up but you must also maintain load. It’s why we see off throttle antilag in WRC.
Ok. I wont argue your opinion but you dont really understand yet.

Thanks for the compliments guys! And Slow_db2… Your rides awesome dude so you must be kidding around huh! Super clean and i’d love to find out more about your upper strut brace… Looks like a nice quaility piece! I couldnt get anything other than the megan racing ones and I’m really not sure abouy them. Who makes yours and are they still available?
There are a lot if people that I have to thank for fabricating a lot of nice parts for me and such… Without them this car would not have been possible…
Cheers[/QUOTE]
no sir i was being dead serious! but my strut braces are made by vision technica, vision makes the spoon strut bars, only difference is the stamp on the end piece… and they are readily available from matt at icb
I should explain myself a little.
You are right in your concept but forgot to consider i havent choosen the right turbo yet and the wrong turbo will definitely act like that. The point you brought up has no consideratoon to turbine size, housing A/R ratio or my powerband… What speed or gear the corner is into a straight to deturning the rpm coming out of the hypethetical corner. But the GT4202 is only available with a 84mm turbine and the smallest AR is 1.01 which means the boost wouldnt be built up until 7200rpm (ish) which is what you are thinking of and would not be a nice driving track car.
On the other hand the GTW3884R (aka GTW6265R) is based on the T04S frame and has a 64mm turbine and AR as low as 0.63 and will have built boost around 5500rpm (ish). The same turbo though, with an AR of 1.01 might build boost around the same as the GT4202R say 7000rpm which makes it hard to “know” how a turbo will act without knowing the specs. Also 5500rpm might seem too high for most cars to start boosting because they rev to a more traditional 8500rpm, but mine revs to 11,000rpm and this yeilds 50% of my useable powerband is on boost. Letting up and stomping the throttle only needs to recompress the charge air pipes, and long pipes that route all over the front bumper and back take a lot of air to rebuild boost which will be laggy, my pipe is straight from the turbo to the intake- no more than 4ft long and is barely noticable how fast it rebuids boost psi… given turbo is the right size and in its spoolable range there is no real lag… But in reality you could tune some in with the maps if it drives a little harsh. At the moment I’m looking at the Borg-Warner S400SX 67mm turbo with .90 AR since its rated for 400-900hp At 105lbs of air.
It can always be turned down but not having enough sucks.
With PID control from the Infinity EMS - (P)roportional, (I)ntegral, (D)erivative for predictive boost targeting (google “PID control” if your not familar, there are good you tube videos) the boost can be capped so it runs like a small turbo car at say 10psi at any rpm and 15 at any other rpm… and it will maintain this until your extra criteria is met, say throttle position and roadspeed tables settings. The Infinity does have advanced antilag like you are talking about… Also, If a lag still occurs you can enhance your spool rate by retarding the ignition timing for that spot of your mapping and massage it out.
So I shrugged off the comment because there was not enough infomation to make that judgement and i didnt have time to answer. Sorry, it was a far statement.
No offense taken, when I was talking about too large a charger I was referencing the 4202 as it’s a turbo I have a bit of familiarity with in different applications. The BW S400 is physically a very large turbo do you have room to package it properly without drastically re-doing your setup to top mount or sidewinder style manifold?
Sweet.
I dont know at this point but I think it might. I have a half sized civic rafiator And theres good room for the turbo there and honestly, If the turbo does what I want, then I’ll make the room.
Are you running a GT4202R?
No I have an hx35 on mine. I ran both a gt4202 journal and a GTX4294r as primaries on my old 24v Dodge Cummins.
Excellent work on everything! Love the attention to detail and custom fabbing going on in here!
Thanks again guys
heres some of my favorite photos
Hey! Missed this question sorry about that… Thanks for the thumbs up!
I have 800whp planned for it above 3rd gear next year after the shakedown and break in is completed at 35psi boost. It will be only used for track days and car shows. And perhaps special events like the power tour if they’d let an import embarass the “no replacement for displacement” peepz…
Haha
Its the ideal system! track proven, reliable, and has SO much more to offer technically -and the “lesser” stuff would be more money.
Moneys always a motivator, and if i can do better with my skills why not save some money and have a better ride.
Things i gain -anyone thats driven An M3 will understand. But a FEW of the features I gain over just a simple EBD controller are Hill hold, corner brake control dynamics (opperates the inside brake in corners), brake rotor wiping for ideal rotor/pad coeffecients, anti brake fade hydraulucs that ups the line presure as pad fade sets in for linear pedal feel, electronic brake force distribution, emergency braking pedal precharge enhancement, optimized vehicle dynamics and vehicle recovery when the car gets a little squimy due to dust or a slick or whatever actually and antilock brakes. To name only a few!
I think the BMW brochure or a youtube video of what DSC does would cover these items and can expalin how they work if your curious.
Of course, like all of us… I like to win and a challenge is always welcome. So of course some “self observation” had to be present.
Is that a bad thing?

i hear you. lol
so much amazing work in your built. lots of respect to you sir.
Great work, this thing is such a beast!
