I still think it be nice to see one made out of CF. But still think the price is to high. Courtney,if you end up getting one, send me pics ok
the two main purposes of carbon composite materials is strength and light weight.
the underhood cowling is neither a stress bearing or overtly heavy piece.
i understand composite body parts replacing heavy steel ones. i dont understand lips, spoilers, cowlings, spark plug covers, roof caps and all the other weird shit that could have easily been made from cheaper fiberglass or even plastic.
what functional benefit would a carbon fiber dash trim lend you? i would be willing to bet that the plastic part its replacing is actually more practical, lighter and less brittle than a CF version.
i just dont see how any of this shit is practical. it might look cool but thats all its doing is looking cool. if youre into that sort of thing more power to you. just dont say you dont understand how these parts are exclusively for all the kids that are pros at showing off how hard they park. i cant afford to have my cf lip repaired everytime i scrub an apex with it. i dont want to replace my CF hatch spoiler every few months because some punk ass kids saw my car in a parking lot and thought it would be cool to steal it. i dont want to treat my car like its some easily broken purpose built showcar. i actually drive my car. i dont have time or the willpower to worry about breaking shit because i wanted to look cool.
but, people like it and there is an obvious market so more power to the guys making a killing off of the market. ill stick to functional aero and trimming seconds off of my laptimes while all those hard parkers scoop up all the carbon fiber they can fit over their OEM sheetmetal panels… lulz

Couldn’t most of the interior just be wrapped in the CF fabric?
Like this.

You gotta pay to play brotha…
well I will get one
any one there were some people that said yes but there is no reply
you should just chip in and cover the entire deposit and get all the first productions pieces if you want one so bad. im sure SOMEONE will buy the other ones from you after a while. also, this way you can guarantee that youll be one of the only ppl with one. its all about being on top of the game, right?

bravo, brother. viva la function
How bout a CF piece to replace the glass in the sunroof? That would have to save some weight while retaining a functional sunroof.
Just thought of it because my glass is cracked and I’m swapping in a new sunroof soon.
how about an carbon fiber piece that replaces the metal bar under the tails/up the bumper?
