So on my set of one pieces the fogs come one with low beams, I don’t know if they came factory that way but I am wondering if I can easily make the fogs turn on independently like my old usdm.

This has zero to do with usdm vs Jdm lights, its only dependent on the wiring. You have to modify the wiring in order for the fogs to go on independent if the head lights. There’s a Teg Tip on this site explaining how to do it.

From the factory the fog lights only turn on when the headlights (low beams) are turned on. If your low beams are not on then the fogs will not turn on and if you turn your high beams on the fogs turn off. It’s VERY common for people to modify the wiring such that the fogs can be turned on without any other lights on.

Colin My RS is set up so I can run fogs any time I want. They will only turn off if the key is out or I turn them off. Does that mean someone at some point has altered the wiring?

Yes, that is exactly what my previous post explained.

No need to be upset. You asked for me to confirm exactly what my previous post explained in detail. So I confirmed, that yes, you did in fact interpret my post correctly. No need to jump to conclusions and assume that me being to the point and explicitly clear means I’m being rude.
