The metal pieces surrounding my windshield, at the corners where the rubber connects, are fading from black to silver. They’re also sort of loose. Is it safe to pull these right off and repaint them? Should I use silicon to resecure them when I put them back on?

they’re also falling out, like i can pull on them lightly and they seem like they’re gona just pop off. i want to resecure them. i just need to know if they’re actulaly held in by glue, and if silicon can do the trick.
