I just had my b16 rebuilt… its running a really high compression… ctr pistons and a milled head… well I have been pampering it and breaking the engine in over the last week or so… I have about 280miles on the engine… I reved it up once to 7k… besides that I’ve kept it below 4k… I went to check my oil last night and there was maybe 1 quart left… I haven’t notcied any oil burning smells, my temp stays steady, and there is no oil on the piece of cardboard I’ve been leaving under my car at night. Why do you think I burned/pushed out all the oil?
It is normal for a “new” engine to eat some oil at first.
G2Guru or anyone please verify?
I threw two more quarts in there… now it is smoking pretty bad when I sit at a light… but it doesn’t smoke when I start it in the morning… it doesn’t start smoking till I drive it a few minutes… I don’t have a spy hunter smoke screen and when I am moving you can’t see it… but at a light the cloud begins to form… I had the block honed an new pistons put in… someone mentioned maybe that the rings haven’t seated yet… I havce 320miles on the new engine… anyone??
what color is ur smoke?
If you’re burning oil, you get blue smoke.
