When i start my car in the morning or when it’s cold it idles at 2500rpms. It just happened suddenly. I don’t know what’s going on. All my vaccum hoses are connected. Maybe the pcv valve? Vaccum leak? somebody help me!! this **** has been annoying me for the longest. Its a burn when i’m at a friends house late at night, cuz then we would have to push my car down the street a little cuz my car is freakin loud when i start it!! haha BTW even when i’ve been driving around for a while it still idles around 2000rpms.

LOL! I used to do that too with my old car.
Anyway, i hope someone can figure your idle prob this socal meet.
That is called your “cold idle” your car is supposed to do that until it warms up. 2500 is about right.
If it is warm and still idles around 2000, you should be able to adjust that with the idle adjust screw. If you don’t know where or what that is, go get a manual for your car.
i had this problem… do u have ac?.. did u remove it?.. i found that after i removed my ac, and pushed the ac button, my idle would jump up anotehr 1000 or so rpm.
it sounds like your thermostat is stuck open… because if you drive around and it still idles high these are the sympthoms of a stuck open thermostat, aka overcooling.

When it’s warming up it’s at 2500. while i’m driving it’sat 2000 or 1500 if i’m lucky. THe screw on the tb is already adjusted all the way!! I’ll check p on the thermostat.

if this isnt the prob, check your thermostat.

Yeah i took the A/C off but it’s not that cz i even tried to turn it on to see if it would help my car be a little quieter. haha

Yes i know where and what it is, i’m not a dumbass, i’ve swapped out two of my motors in and out thank you very much:rolleyes: haha
