Mysterious LOUD rattle

Ok I have a loud metallic rattle coming from the front end of my car. It sounds like it is from underneath the engine kind of behind the front drivers side wheel. It only exists from between 1000-2500 RPM’s and only when I’m at a stop. I have been under my car trying to figure out where its from but I cant pin it down. Its driving me nuts. My brother has a G2 and his car makes the same noise but to a lesser extent. I was wondering if it was a common problem and if anybody else out there has had it and fixed it.

Thanks.

Mine does the same dam thing, only when I let off the gas if I’m between 3000 and 4500rpm.(When shifting gears). Personaly I suspect the heat sheilds. I’m checking it out this weekend, I’ll let you know what becomes of it.

Same problem. Only when I rev it in park though?
Any solution?
(its not too loud, sounds like some thin metal?)

It could be the heat shields, but the one for the cat is roughly under the shifter. The one for the header could be loose.Personly I tore those things off as soon as the warrenty was over.

ITS THE HEAT SHIELD ON THE PIPING…trust me…i took em off and the rattling is gone…or ur catalytic is RUSTED
