Ne One Else Gettin Crappy Gas Mileage Now???

Seems as if I’m only gettin an average of 180-200KMS for half a tank…

I used to get at LEAST 240 before…

Guess its the weather…

Ne one else???

yeah winter tell me bout it. I am from Winnipeg, this time of the year sucks for my car.

Mine is slightly detoriating as well… it sucks.

Many areas of the US and Canada will use Oxygenated gas during the winter months, supposedly to reduce emissions. But I think it’s a ploy for them to make more money because it kills you gas mileage. A good oxygenated gas treatment additive ($2) should fix your problem. Normally I get about 23mpg city, and now I’m getting about 18-19 (OUCH). Best of luck.

Yeah I’m getting around 200km on a half tank… sometimes a little more… I always expect a bit more, but ah well.

What octane gas u guys running??? I’ve put 92 in since I bought it over a year ago… I heard you get better mileage on 89…???

this is horrible, i only get 300km every 10 gallons, about 19mpg. sorry if this is confusing, but i have a canadian gsr with gauges in km, but i fill up in gallons, hehe. anyways, i’ve already tried a tune up, and even a fuel system cleaner, i dunno, i think i’m running way too rich since i have a skunk2 chip. cant wait till i get a vafc to fix it.

350KMS :frowning:

Im only gettin 350kms to a full tank…Im juss runnin regular gas…

Plus my idle sticks at 1100-1200 RPM’s sometimes…

THis crap only happens when its winter time…

Ah well…

yeah, my gas mileage is kinda crappy too. But not a real difference between winter and summer. I usually fill up around 1/8 of a tank (don’t think my dummy light works), and I have about 220 miles on the tank, sometimes less. the most I’ve ever gotten is like 350, and that was going up to Pittsburg, NH, so all highway miles. Once in a while, if I run Sunoco’s high octane stuff, I think it’s 94, I’ll get like 260 miles, but that stuff is so much more expensive, so it’s usually only on special occasions, like after new mods.

my car runs smoother on 87 unleaded regular. I don’t feel any power or mpg increase with premium

97 octane ACK!!!

I find 93 Octane stations whenever I fill up. and Yes, Yes my gas mileage has gone down severly.

Chris, how tight is ur throttle cable? When you idle at that rpm, put ur foot in behind the accelerator and pull it outwards, see if the idle will drop. If it does, ur throttcable is too tight. I had this problem before…I have it now too…but I think itz my tbody.

I was talking to some people at Texaco about that and they said that they dont use oxygenated gas at all anymore. Neither does chevron, shell, 76, or the other good places.
Maybe you guys should ease up on the gas, damned speed demons

Jason, who were you talking to at Texaco? Because from what I hear most companies are still using oxygenated gas from November to March. I know for a fact they were last year, and my gas mileage just went down in November…go figure, just like every other year…like clockwork. My driving habits have not changed.

Dan - Like I said, that is just what they told me when I was talking to them about it. It could be false, but I dont really care enough to find out, hehehe. Or is it that I am just too lazy… :stuck_out_tongue:

teg90rs: True nuff…I feel no difference…

E-DA9: No…My throttle cable seems ok…I think maybe the IAC??? My coolant temp sensor needs to be replaced to i think…

I think I’ll be filling up tomorrow, and I haven’t hit 400km yet. But this is what I usually get in the winter, from all the 10min warm-ups, tire spinning on ice and snow, and the damn cold weather. And I too didn’t get much more on premium gas, nor did I feel any power difference. And we only get 87, 89, 91 octane gas here, or so from what I see.
