I just recently purchase a 1993 GSR and test drove it with the previous owner and found no problem with the suspension. When I took it home and found out the rear back sways to the left while driving 60km/h on bumpy surface, even on potholes and deep manholes (this aint right!). It shakes, rattles and when I drive into deep manholes it makes a knocking sound in the back by the spoiler. My trunk is locked and spoiler intact…it gets anoying and I want to know what is the problem. I’m also concern everytime I go over these bumpy roads that I can feel the car swerve to the left or right a bit (kinda scary). Why does the car do that, I’m clueless! My previous car do not have this problem. I dont know much about suspension but I speculate that it could be the rear springs are too bouncy or shocks is busted but how could these make the car swerve to the left or right? Anyone know?
The wheel alignment is fine, new tires all around (shitty daimond back brand I was told) and the brakes and rotors are good. The previous owner install new front axles so those are ok.
Do you guys think replacing the shocks and spring help? or is this a rear stabilizer problem? If replacing the shocks and spring, where can I buy Koni/GC since I heard such good reviews about them?

Is it the previous owner said alignment is fine, or you went to someone YOU chose to check the alignment? Need to double check the rear toe. Is the car on stock suspension?
If the rear is “stepping out” when you hit a bump on the road… it usually means your rear trailing arm bushing is shot to hell. That is also associated with a “thump/knock” sound when going over bumps.
Also check the bushings on the rear sway bar while you’re at it…
As for the fronts… if it’s “stepping out”, then it might be your outer tierods and upper balljoints.
