Need help removing all window trims...

I’ll be painting my car in a few days and the trimmings are a b!tch…How do you take out the trimmings from the windshield and side windows?

The windshield side moldings are held on by plastic clips. You will brake them when you pull them off. Go to an auto glass shop and buy replacements there not the dealer! The top black strip above the windshield is glued in place with polyurithane. If you remove it it will have to be replaced because it will get stretched and distorted. That one is a dealer only part. To get the top door moldings off you have to remove the mirrors and door panel. There is one screw behind teh mirror and one behind the weather stripping at the rear of the door then pull up and it will come loose .
I’ll post more info durring lunch , work calls!!!

I guess I wont be taking it off then…I don’t wanna buy replacement parts 'cause its a hassle and I’ll be needing it in a week… :frowning:

Here is an easy way. Take it to an Auto glass shop and have them remove the moldings for you. If they brake anything they are responsable to fix of replace it. It shoulden’t cost any more than $50.00

Hrmmmm…Could I just take out the panels and pop the clip out? or you didn’t try it yet? Sorry there is no ‘cheap’ autoglass shops here in Hawaii…they are all ghetto
