Fixed !!!
Turns out it was that damned booster push-rod after all.
I had other problems as well with seized/leaky calipers and leaky brake lines so I ended up rebuilding all four calipers myself, replacing all pads and rotors but the sponge was still there. Then I found the “brake disaster” thread, followed the Tegger DIY located here http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mastercylinderreplace/adjustment.html and voila! brakes are amazing. No sponge, no sink, they just feel brand new.
Thanks so much to everyone who offered help. You guys rock.
So glad to be out of spongy brake hell.
Glad to hear it homie. I bet after all this, the feeling of fixing it was AMAZING lol. Way to stick w it and see it through, good job.
Thanks cdccivic. It does feel good to get it done after all that time. I just about gave up so many times and brought it to a shop but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I have been able to figure out every problem I have ever had with my integra (thanks to G2IC) so far, I wasn’t gonna let it beat me this time.
Forgot to take the before pic with the caliper on but, I’m sure you guys can imagine what it looked like judging by the state of the rotor and bracket. A rusty, leaky, brake fluid covered mess!
Hey, right on brother. Glad you got everything sorted out
Thanks for all your help as usual Welfare!
