Ok, was on my way home from my g/f’s house, and all of a sudden i have my battery light on, and my car’s onboard dash lights start to dim, and my headlights too, as im going down hte road, i start to lose obvious power, and my car basically shuts off, so i pull over, and put parking brake on…
Anyways, i have no idea what the problem could be, the battery is less than a month old, just bought it recently, so i was thinking it could be my alternator? i’m not sure though, i know it can’t be my timing belt because i checked it, and it wasn’t loose at all or anything, so if anyone can tel me what they think is wrong, or confirm that it is more than likely hte alternator, then cool, or if its something else, whatever
Sounds like the alternator or something relating to the charging system. Check the battery voltage to see if it’s dead (probably is, anything under 12v is basically dead, I forget the exact range most car batteries use), and use a manual to see how to check the alternator. Also check to make sure the alternator belt isn’t slipping or broken or something (overlooking the obvious sucks…) Good luck
